Caring for the décolleté area at home

It’s a truism: nothing reveals a woman’s age more than the condition of the skin on her neck and décolleté. Of course, there is no need to be ashamed of your age, but is there any point in investing effort and money in facial care if your neckline remains unattended? Let's figure it out.

Features of the skin in the décolleté area

The skin in the décolleté area, unlike the skin of the face and body, has a thinner fat layer, which means it is more quickly susceptible to all types of age-related changes:

loses firmness and elasticity;

covered with pigment spots.

However, while actively caring for our face, we often forget about our neck and décolleté.

Even with oily or combination facial skin, décolleté skin can become dry and sensitive as a result of exposure to adverse factors and lack of proper care.

A common problem is comedones and blackheads.

It is under no circumstances necessary to clean them mechanically, since due to the structural features of the skin in the décolleté area, any damage results in red spots that do not go away for a long time.

Another trouble is the tendency to pigmentation.

It is due to the fact that the skin in the décolleté area is open in the summer and is exposed to UV radiation.

Caring for the décolleté area at different ages

It’s not just the face that undergoes age-related changes, which is why it’s so important to carefully care for the décolleté area.

During this period, age does not yet make itself felt with obvious manifestations. Yes, the first wrinkles appear on the face, but the décolleté area still looks young, and all it needs is good hydration. The only thing that can bother you is clogged pores and pigmentation.

To avoid clogging of pores, do not forget about exfoliation: use a delicate gommage once a week. Exfoliation helps to cope with the second problem, but for whitening it is better to use tonics and masks with acids (in low concentrations).

Be sure to use photoprotective products in the summer.

At the age of 40, a significant slowdown in collagen production is fraught with the appearance of wrinkles in the neck and décolleté. Remember that cleansing the skin in this delicate area should be as gentle as possible: if you like to rub your back with a hard washcloth, then it is better not to subject this area to such tests.

Cleanse the skin in the chest area as well as the skin of the face - with a mild, non-alkaline agent.

Actively nourish skin of the neck and décolleté: both a face cream and a special product for this area are suitable.

To prolong the youth of the décolleté area, use products labeled “anti-age”. Typically they contain:

loading doses of antioxidants;

components that stimulate collagen synthesis;

moisturizing and lipid-replenishing agents.

Retinoids and vitamin C work best against visible age-related changes, such as wrinkles. But you should be careful with them: in high concentrations, these substances can cause irritation on photodamaged and sensitive skin. If your skin has previously reacted negatively to some cosmetic products, you should consult a cosmetologist before using retinoids and vitamin C.

Cosmetics for décolleté skin

Proper skin care using cosmetics will help delay visible age-related changes.

The main cause of premature skin aging is dehydration. The right cream for the décolleté area contains a large number of moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, antioxidants (vitamins E and C) and oils.

Since the lipid layer of the décolleté skin is thin, do not be afraid to use nourishing creams.

Women don’t like making masks for this area: who would want to walk around with a greasy layer of cream on their chest, even if they don’t always have time for a moisturizing facial procedure. However, try to carve out 5-10 minutes in your schedule to take care of your décolleté. This advice is especially useful for older women.

A solution for those who are always in a hurry: after using a fabric face mask, apply it to your neck and décolleté. As a rule, fabric-based impregnation remains in excess.

Exfoliation is a necessary procedure for the skin. Until the age of 35, soft gommages cope with this task perfectly; after that, it is advisable to switch to chemical exfoliation. Using, for example, creams with a small percentage of acids.

Sunscreens are not in great demand in the city, but for good reason: protection from sun rays not only reduces the risk of melanoma, but also prolongs the youth of the skin. For summer city walks in a dress with an open neckline, use products with a protection factor of at least 30, and for the beach - all 50.

Keep in mind: the skin of the shoulders, back and décolleté burns faster. If you find yourself on the beach without sunscreen, cover yourself with a scarf or pareo.

Cosmetology procedures for décolleté skin care

In addition to peelings and masks, beauty salons offer other effective procedures.

Plasmolifting stimulates skin regeneration, resulting in intense hydration and increased tissue density and elasticity. To carry out plasma lifting, blood is taken from a vein from the patient, which is placed in a special centrifuge to obtain plasma. The plasma is then injected into the facial skin.

Plasmolifting is carried out in a course of 4-5 procedures 1-2 times a year, depending on the initial condition of the skin and its needs.

How to make your neckline beautiful

Regular cosmetic care and procedures from a cosmetologist are certainly important if your goal is to maintain youthful skin in the décolleté area for as long as possible. In addition, we can advise you on some tricks that do not require an investment of money or a lot of time.

A straight back helps prevent the early appearance of “Venus rings” on the neck. And hunched shoulders do not add beauty at all.

Alternating jets of hot and cold water maintains skin elasticity and tone.

You can learn massage on your own - thanks to the Internet: you don’t need complex instructions, just watch a few video tutorials on YouTube.

Any massage is performed only after applying a rich lotion or oil. Without them, you can etch the skin and get the opposite effect.

We offer a simple scheme for self-massage of the décolleté area.

Start the massage with superficial and enveloping strokes with your palms.

Then proceed to spiral movements, moving from bottom to top along the middle of the sternum.

Alternate right and left hand, circular and spiral movements.

Good afternoon dear readers of my blog! Today I want to pay attention to our neck, so I decided to touch on the topic of caring for the neck and décolleté and share my tips. I'll tell you about nourishing and moisturizing masks for the neck and décolleté, so read on!

From the article you will learn:

Neck and décolleté care

How often do we, dear women, forget to pamper our necks! We apply an expensive cream or mask to the face, ending exactly on the chin! But what about what is below?

After all, it is the neck that reveals a lady’s age! You can tighten and suture the skin of your face as much as you like, but if the skin of your neck looks flabby and wrinkled, then it’s all in vain. And with such inattention to her neck, a sad moment inevitably comes when a woman realizes that the best clothes for her are turtlenecks and turtleneck sweaters that hide her now unattractive neck. That's why neck skin care is so important, including nutrition, skin moisturizing, regular masks for the neck and décolleté.

The results are worth the effort: the reflection in the mirror will delight you with freshness and youth, dresses with a low neckline will not be prohibited for you, and your beloved man will not be able to resist affectionate touches to your smooth, delicate, porcelain neck!

uhod-za-zonoj-kolte-v-JehPp.webp

After all, how many beautiful metaphors have been invented for a beautiful woman’s neck! “Swan neck” is a favorite expression of poets, a symbol of femininity and fragility. Remember the portrait of Nefertiti with an unrealistically long thin neck, this masterpiece of world culture!

I hope I have convinced you of the need to care for your neck and décolleté, and you are interested in how this care is carried out correctly. It's actually simple: Care measures should be regular and comprehensive (include nutrition and moisturizing of the skin). It is recommended to start taking care of your neck from the age of 20, but if you are a little older and you missed this moment, it’s okay - start now!

You can contact a cosmetologist and sign up for treatments at a salon, or you can equally successfully take care of your neck at home on your own, because preparing self-care products does not require a lot of money or special effort. Determine for yourself what problem is important for you to solve: maintain skin tone and maintain the condition in which it is currently in, or nourish dull skin, or restore a youthful appearance... and, depending on this, choose care programs!

I am publishing for you my favorite and very effective mask recipes.

  1. The mask must be applied to cleansed skin (the skin of the neck should be cleansed carefully, using non-aggressive detergents with neutral pH: foam for washing, baby wash);
  2. The duration of the mask is at least 15-20 minutes;
  3. Make sure you are not allergic to any component of the mask (before applying the mixture to your neck, apply a little to your wrist. If after 2-3 minutes you do not experience any unpleasant sensations such as burning or itching, you can safely use the mask for its intended purpose);
  4. Wash off the masks with warm water;
  5. The recommended frequency of applying masks is a couple of times a week;
  6. Choose masks correctly: a 20-year-old girl should not make masks for dull skin; nourishing and moisturizing masks will be enough;
  7. After removing the mask, apply a nourishing cream: this will be the final stage of the cosmetic procedure. By the way, the cream should be specifically for the skin of the neck; you should not use the same one as for the face: the skin of the neck is drier and thinner than the skin of the face, and needs especially gentle care. Today, cosmetics stores have a sufficient selection of suitable neck and décolleté care products.

Nourishing masks for the skin of the neck and décolleté

Many nourishing masks are prepared on a fruit basis. A little hint: your refrigerator is a whole beauty salon, you just have to take a closer look. Sour cream? Apply it evenly to clean skin, wait about 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Banana? Mash the pulp with a fork (preferably a plastic one) in a plate and apply the resulting porridge to the neck and décolleté. After 15-20 minutes, rinse off. Grape? Cut a couple of berries in half and rub the halves on the skin of your neck! Raw yolk? In combination with honey and oil (any vegetable) you will get a great nourishing mask!

More complex recipes will require a little more free time, but the results will be amazing.

You need homemade cottage cheese 5% fat (10 tablespoons) and several orange slices (7-8 pieces). Mash the slices with a fork to squeeze out the juice, or grind in a blender. Mix with cottage cheese. If the cottage cheese is thick, you can add a little cream or sour cream. The mask should again be applied to cleansed skin. Leave for 15-20 minutes, rinse with warm water.

This mask was very popular among Swedish aristocrats. Several records of beauties of that era have been preserved, where they claim that after this mask, the skin of the neck becomes incredibly velvety, which drives men crazy!

And for this mask you will only need a few 2-3 boiled potatoes, a couple of tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil and 2-3 tablespoons of any fresh juice.

Mash the potatoes with butter, add juice. Apply to neck and décolleté. After 20 minutes, rinse with cool water. Apply nourishing cream.

Masks for aging neck skin

uhod-za-zonoj-kolte-v-hMTkh.webp

If the skin on your neck begins to show your age, this is not a reason to be upset, but only a reason to increase your attention to this area and pamper your neck with special masks more often!

Masks for aging skin help restore lost tone and fresh appearance to the skin, tighten and smooth the skin, and visually rejuvenate it.

Take any vegetable oil (olive, sunflower, flaxseed, almond, peach, apricot) and heat it up a little. Add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply the resulting mixture warm to the skin of the neck and décolleté. After 20 minutes, rinse with warm water.

This mask gives a magical lifting effect, the skin is literally smoothed out and looks younger! To prepare this mask, you will need regular live yeast (a couple of tablespoons) and warm milk, which needs to be used to dilute the yeast. You should get a homogeneous paste of medium thickness. You can add a little butter and one raw yolk to make the mask even more nutritious. Also apply for 20 minutes, then rinse.

Moisturizing masks for the skin of the neck and décolleté

It is very useful to perform such masks in winter, when the skin of the neck especially suffers from the drying effect of central heating.

Any fruit mask, for example apple, can be considered moisturizing.

Grate a large juicy apple, add a teaspoon of sour cream. Apply an even layer to the skin of the neck, rinse after 20 minutes.

You need to cook some oatmeal, add a spoonful of honey and mix well. Should be applied warm.

Compresses for neck and décolleté care

uhod-za-zonoj-kolte-v-SeZMFj.webp

Cosmetic compresses differ from masks in that they must be performed with wrapping, creating the so-called greenhouse effect. This enhances the active effect of the mask ingredients and allows you to achieve even better results.

Try to do compresses no more than once a week.

Compresses and masks based on honey are extremely nutritious and can be used for any purpose: rejuvenation, nutrition, toning.

Mix a teaspoon of honey + a tablespoon of melted butter + raw yolk and spread evenly on a towel (it should be prepared in advance). Wrap your neck with a towel, wrap it with a layer of cling film on top and secure it. Wash off after 20 minutes.

After this compress, the skin on your neck looks very fresh and youthful. This compress is suitable for a lady of any age. Grate fresh cucumber or chop it in a blender, add a little sour cream. Place the paste on a towel. Wrap the neck, reinforce with a layer of film on top. Wash off after 15-20 minutes.

uhod-za-zonoj-kolte-v-ncLBbl.webp

As you can see, there is nothing supernatural in caring for the skin of the neck and décolleté. The ingredients of all masks are quite accessible and inexpensive, the main thing is not to be lazy and perform care procedures regularly, and not from time to time.

Make caring for your neck a new habit, like brushing your teeth or washing your face. Take every opportunity to pamper your neck: for example, while preparing dinner, rub your neck with a piece of ice. When taking a shower, massage your neck and chest with a gentle stream of cool water.

While preening in front of the mirror, give your neck a light massage: a few gentle patting movements with the back of your hand or your fingertips.

And if you follow all the above recommendations, you won’t have to avoid open dresses and sexy outfits that reveal your décolleté – your neck and chest will always be gorgeous!

Women sometimes carefully take care of their facial skin, but they forget that the décolleté area and neck also require close attention. But they are the ones who can reveal the real age of a lady. It’s not enough to just buy a cream and put it on your dressing table, of course, if you don’t want to say goodbye to a deep neckline forever and wear only closed sweaters even in the summer. You need to take a little time to care for these parts of the body.

Rules of care

Proper skin care usually includes first cleansing, then moisturizing, and then nourishing. This area is cleansed not only in the evening, when makeup is removed, but also in the morning.

ATTENTION: There is no oily skin on the neck, even if the face is covered with acne, since there are no sebaceous glands in this part of the body. You need to take this fact into account when purchasing care products.

Alcohol-containing preparations and hard tap water are not suitable for cleansing delicate skin. High-quality foam or cosmetic milk, herbal gel, and thermal water are used. It is better to cleanse along the lines of least stretch of the skin. This will allow:

  1. optimize skin regeneration;
  2. restore normal blood circulation;
  3. improve skin tone.

To moisturize, not only special creams are used, but also serums, and preparations for dry facial skin are used.

IMPORTANT: Daytime cosmetics must reliably guarantee complete protection from ultraviolet rays, since the sun negatively affects the condition of the skin, which contributes to the aging process.

Proper care of the décolleté and neck area involves the use of nourishing and fortified cosmetics. As ingredients you should prefer green tea, apricot and almond oil, Shea butter, and other components containing an antioxidant complex, vitamins E and F.

Skin care at home - preparation methods and methods of application

First of all, it is worth noting that not only care products, but also fitness perfectly helps to bring these areas of the body into relative order. This will partially restore the skin's lost tone, not to mention prevention. You need to include exercises for the chest area, arms and neck in your sports activities.

Ice cubes are a very good home remedy for cleansing. These can be frozen herbal infusions of chamomile, mint, and sage. Ice perfectly tones the skin, so in the morning you can wipe it not only on the décolleté, but also on the neck. In the evening it is better to use cosmetic milk or cream. For home remedies, you can recommend low-fat sour cream and high-quality vegetable oil. Rose water works great.

Homemade Recipes for Deep Cleaning

Cleansing kefir mask. Thoroughly mix brewer's yeast (powder, ten grams), a tablespoon of kefir, a teaspoon each of orange and carrot juice in a blender. You can add one drop of lavender oil to this mass. Apply to skin for ten minutes, then rinse and apply your usual neck cream.

Mix cucumbers in a blender (a couple of pieces, without seeds and skin), add two or three leaves of fresh mint. Add one egg white to the mixture, apply to the skin for fifteen minutes, then rinse and apply a nourishing cream.

You need to even out the relief on the skin using scrubs, but you should choose them with fine particles. Amber powder is ideal when mixed with any fatty oil (for example, pumpkin oil). Using a hard washcloth for the delicate skin of the neck is out of the question; the skin is cleaned with a special soft glove.

Homemade peeling recipes

Almond: honey (ten grams) mixed with almond powder in the same quantity. You can add two drops of lemon juice. Keep the mixture on the skin for a couple of minutes, then cleanse the skin along the lines of least stretch and remove with warm mineral water.

Corn: mix the egg white into a foam, add one and a half tablespoons of corn flour to it. Apply the mixture to the desired areas of the body, then rinse with warm mineral water.

Cleaning with a scrub is carried out once a week, not more often, after which a nourishing cream is applied to the skin.

To increase elasticity, you should moisten the bandage in a saline solution (a teaspoon in a glass of water) and wrap it around your neck and décolleté. Leave the compress on for half an hour, then wash with soft water. The procedure is carried out twice a week. Even saggy skin becomes firm and elastic.

It is good to prepare flax seed neck lotion at home for skin care. A tablespoon of seed is steamed with a third cup of boiling water, covered with a napkin so that the moisture is absorbed, and allowed to stand for several hours. Afterwards, strain off the resulting liquid and wipe the skin with it. You can add one drop of lavender essential oil.

Herbal neck cream with beeswax provides excellent hydration of the skin. You can prepare it in the summer, when fresh raw materials are available, and then store it in the refrigerator. Take five leaves of currant, rowan and nettle, three rose buds and three jasmine inflorescences, as well as a tablespoon of chopped parsley. The ingredients are mixed in a blender with wax, any fatty vegetable oil (one and a half tablespoons each). The wax should first be melted in a water bath. At the end, add one drop each of vitamins A and E.

A simple way to care for the décolleté and neck area is a gentle banana mask. You need to chop a banana and mix it with a spoon of honey, then apply the mixture, you can also apply it to your face. After fifteen minutes, remove the mask, lightly rubbing the skin along the lines of least stretch. Bananas are rich in vitamins and beneficial minerals; they perfectly nourish the skin.

Oil compresses, which are made from any heated vegetable oil of the highest quality, are also beneficial for the skin, but it is better to take olive or corn oil. The compress is made like this: the neck is generously lubricated with slightly warmed oil, then covered with a layer of plastic film and then with a cloth. The exposure time is half an hour.

It is better to buy a special cream or fatty oil for the face to care for the skin of the neck. Apply twice a day with light movements onto clean skin. Apply morning and evening.

IMPORTANT: The skin on the chest is as thin and delicate as the skin on the eyelids, so eye cream is ideal for it.

Once a week, nourishing masks are applied to the delicate skin of the breast. For example, mix a tablespoon of cottage cheese, a fresh cucumber, one boiled potato and a few cabbage leaves in a blender. Add a little chamomile decoction to this mixture. The mask is applied for 20-25 minutes.

Fresh avocado puree perfectly nourishes the skin. The fruit is a rich source of vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant. Protects cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. Vitamins C and E included in the product are important for the synthesis of collagen, necessary for the development of skin cells, its regeneration, this prevents sagging and the formation of wrinkles.

Prevention of skin aging

  1. Firstly, you should forever get rid of habits that are harmful to preserving youth and beauty. For example, in order for the décolleté area to retain its youthful appearance for a long time, we stop sleeping on our sides and ignore high pillows. Otherwise, noticeable folds will form on the neck.
  2. Next, we develop a slender posture. Not only does a woman look much more impressive this way, but from the habit of slouching, this area loses tone, becomes flabby and wrinkled. You need to keep your head straight, your shoulders should be straightened. The neck should be slightly extended while walking and the chin raised. By the way, professional photographers pay attention to this circumstance during the shooting process, often lifting the client’s chin with their hand.
