A-Cell

A cells, or Insulocytes, are one of the types of cells that are present in the pancreas of humans and animals. Their main function is to produce insulin, a hormone that helps control blood glucose levels.

In the body, these cells are synthesized from the epithelium of the pancreatic islets, are located in a group and have an oval shape.

A cells are characterized by the presence of specific receptor proteins that interact with hormones and other molecules associated with carbohydrate metabolism. They also produce acidosis, a special substance that helps maintain a balance between glucose levels and its breakdown.
