Acidosis Mixed

Acidosis is a condition of the body in which the content of acids in the blood and tissues is increased and the content of alkaline substances is decreased. This can happen as a result of the entry of these substances into the blood, or due to a decrease in the synthesis of bicarbonates necessary for the formation of alkalis. The combination of different types of acidosis is called mixed acidosis. A person has a special buffer mechanism that protects the body from such changes.

**Signs of a mixed acidotic state of the body:**

• Drowsiness and chronic fatigue quickly set in. • Appetite decreases. In mixed acidosis, intravenous solutions of glucose and amino acids may be required to maintain nutrition.

• General weakness, loss of appetite.

Decreased acidity in the body (acidosis): Acidemia uses the minimum amount of ammonium needed to transfer charge. However, the “mitochondrial buffer” is oversaturated with K+. Ammonium and K+ accumulate. Acidemia begins when accumulation reaches a certain level.
