Akinesis

If all the trees in the forest could talk, how would they tell the story of the whales? What if these big powerful beasts one day began to move on the earth? The imagination already draws a lot of unrealistic options, but one fine day we learned that such trees exist - these are cypresses. And they are the ones who move. So what kind of “Egyptian forest” is this akinesobiome, and who made it dance?

A study by botanists from the USA and Japan, led by L. A. Burkholder, describes the peculiarities of the processes occurring in the akinetic community - like dancing cypress trees (this question is more of a joke for people involved in this topic, so the author will not touch on it ).

Scientists used unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as a special projection device to analyze the movement of tree crowns. As a first result, the researchers emphasized that the movement of cypress trees is not at all tied to their movement in the shadow of the Sun - that is, it does not depend on the strength of the light that falls on the tree. But while we are at a loss, we don’t know whether the conclusion should be considered purely correct? How can we be sure? Cypress trees have been growing for thousands of years, and it is not yet possible to understand why this happens through observations. We can only look through the viewfinder, shining through the crowns, in order to see the twisted leaves sticking out in different directions in many copies. This remarkable phenomenon also occurs in pyramidal poplars. Cypress trees also have a fairly high growth rate, which is explained by the methods of treating diseases.

The natural sciences make such a great contribution to the development of our ideas about the beauty and secret life of plants approximately every two years. But I say that I rarely come across impressions that remain directly after I saw the trees move. Therefore, I would like to emphasize once again that today relatively little is known about who is involved in these changes, how the presence of movement is determined and how movement is carried out
