Anaphylactic Shock (Anaphylaxis)

Anaphylactic shock is an acute allergic reaction that occurs when the body is repeatedly exposed to an allergen.

Causes of anaphylactic shock:

  1. Taking medications (usually antibiotics, anesthetics)
  2. Insect bites (bees, wasps, hornets)
  3. Eating certain foods

Risk group:

  1. Children with a hereditary predisposition to allergies
  2. People with a history of allergies

Symptoms:

  1. Weakness, dizziness
  2. Decreased hearing and vision
  3. Nausea, vomiting
  4. Heart and stomach pain
  5. Drop in blood pressure
  6. Loss of consciousness

Severity:

Mild - headache, dizziness, slight decrease in blood pressure.

Moderate - a sharp drop in blood pressure, weakness, visual and hearing impairment.

Severe - loss of consciousness, cessation of breathing and circulation.

Severe anaphylactic shock without timely treatment can be fatal. Therefore, it is important to immediately recognize the symptoms and call an ambulance.
