Dysontogenetic atelectasis

Dysontogenic atelegtasis (DIZONTOGENETIC CONGENITAL ATELECTASIS; synonym: hypertrophic pulmonary dysplasia) is a congenital malformation of the terminal branches of the pulmonary artery, characterized by a sharp expansion of the second-order branches with the formation of an atelegtatic lung or hemiatelegtatic lobe. It is considered as one of the forms of the non-splitting type of common intrauterine pulmonary hypoplasia, resulting from degenerative changes in the smooth muscle fibers of the bronchioles and arteries of the lung
