Poisonous! Heathers - Ericaceae. Common names: lavender heather, rosemary heather. Pharmacy name: white grass - Andromedae hertoa (formerly: Hertoa Andromedae).
Botanical description. An evergreen low shrub with grayish bark. The leaves are linear-lanceolate, tucked along the edges. The flowers are bell-shaped, drooping, whitish-red. Grows in Northern and Central Europe, North America and northern Asia. Grows in peat bogs.
Active ingredients: andromedotoxin and other substances.
Application. Previously, and in folk medicine to this day, it was used as a cardiac remedy that lowers blood pressure. Not currently applicable.
