In case of a major industrial disaster, the main task is: • timely notification and organization of protection of workers and employees of the facility, all residents living near the population that is at risk; • searching for victims and providing them with medical care; • localization and extinguishing of fires; • prevention and limitation of the destructive effects of factors accompanying a disaster. When eliminating the consequences of a disaster, the following measures should be taken: • eliminate the collapse or strengthening of building structures that threaten to fall; • eliminate accidents on utility and energy networks; • set up technological lines; • carry out other urgent work. In conditions of chaotic accumulation of debris in the rubble, possible collapse of individual elements of damaged structures, smoke and gas contamination of the area, there is a danger to human life and injury. Therefore, it is important to comply with the safety requirements: • it is prohibited to unnecessarily walk through the rubble or enter destroyed houses and structures; • it is not recommended to stay and carry out work near houses that threaten to collapse; • do not approach power lines lying on the ground or touch electrical devices without protective equipment; • persons taking part in the liquidation of the consequences of an accident (collapse of structures, removal of rubble) must wear special clothing made of thick fabric, have closed shoes, canvas gloves, and helmets with soft liners; • those performing work at height must have mounting safety belts with chains or ropes for tying to reliable parts of the building or communication; • the area where emergency rescue operations are carried out must be fenced off, security and observers must be posted in a timely manner; • near dangerous places you need to hang posters warning about the danger; • everyone who takes part in extinguishing and liquidating fires is supplied with gas masks and protective equipment.
