Franke Hemorrhagic Leukemia (synonyms: Promyelocytic leukemia, Franklin's disease): an acute, rapidly progressive malignant disease of the blood system, accompanied by a profound change in the peripheral blood formula, symptoms of generalized inflammation and severe intoxication of the body, characterized by a frequent terminal outcome. The disease has a sporadic incidence. Men are affected less frequently than women. The histological picture of the tumor is not typical: fatty and histioblastic elements, macrophage cells containing hemosiderin are found, and immature granulocytes with superficial pseudopodia (myeloblasts) are found in the central areas. The main histological feature is the presence of foci of pseudonodular hematopoiesis.
