Gastroenteritis Infectious

Gastroenteroitis is an acute infectious inflammatory process of the mucous membrane of the stomach and small intestine (gastroenteropathy). Typically, non-infectious gastroenteritis is called gastroenterocolitis. Non-infectious causes of gastritis and enteritis are sometimes called “functional disorders” of the stomach, since their nature is unclear or unspecified. Intestinal diseases are usually divided into the following groups: inflammation of the rectum, sigmoid or colon - proctosigmoiditis, and inflammation of the small intestine - enterocolitis or enteritis. The spread of the process to the stomach and duodenum is called gastroenteralgic syndrome.
