Histamine

Histamine is a hormone that is produced in mast cells, clusters of immune cells in the body's tissues. It is responsible for regulating inflammatory reactions and the functioning of the immune system. Histamine is an important link in the development of allergic reactions. When interacting with an allergen, the amount of histamine in the blood increases, which leads to symptoms such as runny nose, lacrimation, skin rash, sneezing and others. Histamine is also involved in the development of reactions to insect bites.
