Glial cells

***Glial cells*** are cells of the nervous system. They provide a constant flow of oxygen to neurons, act as a kind of pump, actively absorb sugar molecules from the blood and distribute them among the cells of the cortex. There are two main types of glial cells: *ependymal* and *microglia.*
