Polyneuritis Mercury

Mercury polyneuritis is a chronic disease of the nervous system caused by intoxication with vapors or mercury oxide. This disease can also occur by eating food that has been contaminated with mercury or by inhaling vaporized mercury from the environment.

Symptoms of mercuric polyneuritis may not appear immediately. Most patients may not notice any signs of the disease in the early stages. However, over time, the symptoms become more noticeable. Among them are the following:

1. Muscle weakness and tremors. 2. Loss of coordination of movements. 3. Speech disorders. 4. Feeling of dry mouth. 5. Hair loss. 6. Indigestion. 7. Change in skin color around the mouth and eyes.
