Prevention of comminuted wounds

During earthquakes, try not to be under structures that can be easily destroyed: bridges, balconies, verandas.
When carrying out repair work under the vehicle, block its wheels to prevent the jack from lifting and falling off.
Avoid standing between two nearby objects that might move, such as two parked cars.
When working in trenches, securely secure their walls to prevent collapse.
First aid for crushed wounds
Follow the basic principles of first aid:
Try to free the victim from the compressive force as soon as possible, but before doing this, be sure to apply a tourniquet above the compression site. Call an ambulance.
Stop heavy bleeding.
Take anti-shock measures
Immobilize the injured body part if there is a fracture.
Remove the tourniquet after the fracture site has been secured.
