Self-portrait of Amy Winehouse sold for less than its asking price

A self-portrait of Amy Winehouse was put up for auction at the Cob Gallery auction house. The singer depicted herself using paints mixed with her own blood. The former owner of the lot expected to receive a tidy sum for the painting.

However, such a pathological work of art did not really attract buyers. The price of the lot had to be reduced. In the end, a lover of oddities was found who paid $56,000 for Amy’s self-portrait entitled “Ladylike” (the estimated price of the lot was $80,000 – $120,000).

In addition to the portrait, other things of the singer were sold at the auction. It turned out that in many of her diaries and paintings, Amy used blood instead of ink. Part of the proceeds was donated to the Amy Winehouse Charity Foundation.

Let us remember that the singer passed away almost a year ago, after which her popularity in the UK and around the world increased considerably.
