Composition: 1 film-coated tablet contains: estradiol hemihydrate - 1 mg, drospirenone - 2 mg.

Indications for use: Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopausal disorders in the postmenopausal period, including vasomotor symptoms (such as hot flashes, increased sweating), sleep disturbances, depression, irritability, involutional changes in the skin and genitourinary tract, in women with a unremoved uterus . Prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, breastfeeding, vaginal bleeding of unknown origin, confirmed or suspected diagnosis of breast cancer, confirmed or suspected diagnosis of a hormone-dependent precancerous disease or hormone-dependent malignant tumor, liver tumors currently or in history (benign or malignant) ), severe liver disease, severe kidney disease currently or in history, acute arterial thrombosis or thromboembolism, incl. leading to myocardial infarction, stroke, deep vein thrombosis in the acute stage, venous thromboembolism currently or in history, severe hypertriglyceridemia.

Side effects: In rare cases, the following side effects are possible:

  1. From the reproductive system and mammary glands: breakthrough uterine bleeding and spotting, changes in vaginal discharge, an increase in the size of fibroids, a condition similar to premenstrual syndrome; tenderness, tension and/or enlargement of the mammary glands, benign formations of the mammary glands.

  2. From the gastrointestinal tract: dyspepsia, bloating, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, relapse of cholestatic jaundice.

  3. From the skin and subcutaneous tissue: skin rash, itching, chloasma, erythema nodosum.

  4. From the side of the central nervous system: headache, migraine, dizziness, mood lability, anxiety, increased nervous excitability, increased fatigue, insomnia.

  5. Other: rarely - rapid heartbeat, edema, increased blood pressure, varicose veins, superficial thrombophlebitis, venous thrombosis and thromboembolism, muscle cramps, changes in body weight, changes in libido, visual disturbances, intolerance to contact lenses, allergic reactions.

Interaction:

  1. Long-term treatment with drugs that induce liver enzymes (hydantoins, barbiturates, primidone, carbamazepine, rifampicin, oxcarbazepine, topiramate, felbamate and griseofulvin) may increase the clearance of sex hormones and reduce their clinical effectiveness.

  2. In rare cases, against the background of concomitant use of certain antibiotics (for example, penicillin and tetracycline groups), a decrease in estradiol levels was observed.

  3. Substances that are highly conjugated (eg paracetamol) may increase the bioavailability of estradiol due to competitive inhibition of the conjugation system during absorption.

  4. Excessive alcohol consumption during hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may increase circulating estradiol levels.

Overdose: Symptoms that may occur in case of overdose: nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding. There is no specific antidote, treatment is symptomatic.

Special instructions:

  1. Angeliq is not used for contraception.

  2. Taking sex steroids can affect the biochemical parameters of the liver, thyroid gland, adrenal glands and kidneys, and the plasma levels of transport proteins such as sex hormone-binding globulin and lipid/lipoproteins.
