Chlorine gas poisoning

Chlorine is a yellow-green gas almost three times heavier than air. This substance is considered poisonous. Many industrial plants use chlorine in liquid, solid and gaseous states. Chlorine is also used at water intake stations to chlorinate water.
Signs and symptoms of poisoning
• feeling of heartburn in the eyes, nasopharynx;
• labored breathing;
• Skin irritation.
Exposure to the gas for two or more hours can cause serious complications: • pulmonary edema,
• death.
First aid for chlorine gas poisoning
1. Used for respiratory protection
Wear a gas mask.
2. Take the victim out of heaven
furnace zone.
3. If you don’t have a gas mask, cover your mouth and nose
pour with a bandage moistened with two percent
with a solution of baking soda.
4. Wash eyes, mouth, face
water.
5. In severe cases, emergency medical care
assistance is provided according to the general principle.
