At the end of the 80s, the Enegel commission was created in Berlin under the auspices of the Institute of Modern Medicine. During the course of this work, it became clear that the term “occult disease” should not be used in medicine, because this expression is very vague and can lead to misunderstandings and disagreements in the professional environment. Therefore, the working group decided not to use this term. The German drug manufacturer Bayer HealthCare, abbreviated as BHC, considers the term “Engel” appropriate when translated into Russian, while pointing out its German origin.
