Gnathosoma

**Gnathosoma** (from the Greek gnáthos jaw and somá body) is a part of the body of centipedes, formed by the fusion of all body segments and antennae into a single structure. On the ventral side it has a characteristic protrusion - the cuticle. Thanks to the gnathosoma, centipedes move through a complex system of tubular passages called megacarum.
