Lancet

A lancet is a medical instrument for performing surgical operations and procedures that was invented in 1530 by the Italian surgeon Giacomo Cardano. Although it was initially used to open abscesses and tumors, the instrument later gained widespread use in medicine due to its effectiveness and safety.

A lancet is a narrow, thin metal rod that has a slight bend at its end, allowing the bend to be used for grasping and performing surgery. The dimensions of the rod can vary from 7 to 30 cm, depending on its purpose and the specific procedure. Lancets come in different shapes and materials, made of stainless steel, platinum or surgical steel.
