Rathke's pouch tumor (RK) is a fairly rare tumor pathology of the brain that occurs due to improper formation of brain tissue in the embryonic period. It is characterized by the fact that the growing mass of brain tissue compresses adjacent brain structures and can cause disruption of brain function, especially in young people during their most intensive period of development. RK usually manifests as a painless headache, changes in vision, and impaired brain function. Treatment of cancer can be surgical or medical, depending on the severity of the disease and the location of the tumor.
