Polysplenia

Polysplenia is a rare congenital malformation of the intestine, characterized by excessive enlargement of the intestinal wall and the accumulation of gases and liquids in its cavity. At the initial stage of the disease, the newly formed part of the intestine is not fully formed at the physiological level, and its normal functions do not fully develop and do not correspond to the parameters of healthy children. With the growth and development of the child, a partial disruption of the normal functioning of the intestines occurs. Subsequently, the disease progresses and leads to failure of many digestive systems, primarily the intestines, liver and pancreas, which requires additional therapeutic intervention. Making a diagnosis is quite difficult due to the lack of obvious clinical signs hidden under skin diseases.
