Turnera Symptom

Turner's symptom is a clinical sign characteristic of Shereshevsky-Turner syndrome. This syndrome is a congenital disorder associated with partial or complete monosomy of the X chromosome.

The main manifestations of Shereshevsky-Turner syndrome:

  1. Short stature.
  2. Lack of puberty.
  3. Gonadal dysgenesis.
  4. Heart defects.
  5. Renal abnormalities.
  6. Hearing defects.

Turner's symptom includes the following signs:

  1. Short stature (below 150 cm).
  2. Lack or delay of puberty.
  3. Pterygium of the knee joint is a fold of skin in the knee area.
  4. Swelling on the dorsum of the feet and hands.
  5. Wide chest with widely spaced nipples.
  6. Low occipital relief.
  7. Strabismus, ptosis.
  8. Low set ears.

The diagnosis of Shereshevsky-Turner syndrome is confirmed when characteristic chromosomal abnormalities are detected. Timely diagnosis allows treatment with hormonal drugs to stimulate puberty and growth.
