Fanconi anemia

Fanconi anemia is a genetic disease characterized by iron deficiency in the blood, impaired hematopoiesis and, as a rule, damage to several organs and systems of the body. Iron deficiency is caused by a mutation in a gene involved in transporting iron from the stomach to the bone marrow. This manifests itself in a decrease in the level of hemoglobin in the blood and leads to tissue hypoxia, which can manifest itself as jaundice, irritability, increased fatigue, decreased performance and other symptoms. In addition, Fanconi anemia is characterized by damage to the genitourinary system, nervous system, digestive system and heart. Treatment of Fanconi anemia is carried out with the help of iron supplements, vitamins and other drugs. Prevention consists of an annual examination of the body and treatment of identified pathologies.
