First aid for cardiac arrest: performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an adult

You found a man lying motionless on the ground. Inspect the scene to ensure there is no danger and determine what happened. If there is no danger, perform an initial inspection first.
Determine whether the victim is conscious
• Ask loudly: “Do you need help? »
•Clap your hands. • Squeeze your trapezius muscle.
th.
If the victim is unconscious: • Carefully roll the victim onto his back (only if necessary).
Open the airway
and check for breathing
• Throw your head back and lift your chin.
• To detect breathing, use visual, auditory and tactile control for 5 seconds.
If the victim is not breathing: • Place the victim on his back on a hard surface so that his head and heart are at the same level.
Take 2 full mouth-to-mouth breaths
• Pinch the victim's nostrils. Place your lips tightly around the victim's mouth.
• Give 2 full insufflations.
• Watch the chest rise to ensure air is moving into the lungs.
Check for a pulse
• Feel your pulse for 10 seconds.
If the victim does not have a pulse:
Call an ambulance
• Send someone to call an ambulance.
Find the right hand position
• Press your fingers into the indentation on the lower edge of the sternum and keep your two fingers in this place. Use the hand that is closest to the victim's foot.
• Place the heel of the palm of your other hand on your chest above where your fingers are.
• Remove your fingers from the groove and place the palm of one hand on top of the other.
• Avoid touching your chest with your fingers.
Do 15 sternum thrusts
• When performing pushes, the rescuer's shoulders should be above his hands.
• Pushes on the sternum are performed to a depth of 4-5 cm.
• Approximately 15 thrusts should be performed in 10 seconds (80-100 thrusts per minute).
• Push slowly in a vertical line, keeping your hands on your chest at all times.
• Do not make rocking movements during the procedure. This reduces the effectiveness of the pushes and you waste your strength.
• Before starting the next push, allow your chest to return to its starting position.
Take 2 full mouth-to-mouth breaths
• Open the airway by throwing your head back and lifting your chin.
• Pinch the victim's nostrils and place your lips tightly around his mouth.
• Give 2 full blows for 1.5-2 seconds each.
• Watch the chest rise to ensure air is moving into the lungs.
Repeat cycles of chest thrusts and blowing
• Do 3 more cycles with 15 thrusts and 2 blows.
Check again for pulse and breathing
• Feel your pulse for 10 seconds.
If the victim has a pulse and breathing:
•Place the victim in a stable position.
• Maintain a patent airway.
• Watch your breathing.
• If severe bleeding is detected, stop it.
• Wait for the ambulance to arrive.
If the victim has a pulse but is not breathing:
• Continue artificial ventilation until emergency services arrive.
If the victim has no pulse or breathing:
• Continue CPR until the ambulance arrives.
If the ambulance has not yet been called, then call immediately and wait for the team to arrive:
Check your pulse every few minutes.
Feel the pulse and determine breathing within 10 seconds.
