A couvez is a tray for a newborn, designed to keep a newborn in special conditions. This term was coined in the mid-20th century, but began to be actively used in the 60s, when a number of scientific studies in the field of neonatology began. In the Soviet Union it was not used as a separate term; the word "incubator" was used instead. Due to the massive introduction of a new method of caring for newborns in maternity hospitals, the concept of incubation has again returned to the wide lexicon. Today, this device is widely used both at home and in medical institutions.
The application of modern rules allows for the timely detection of diseases, which are often associated with time and lack of oxygen for the child. In addition, optimal humidity and temperature are maintained inside the cuvette for newborns. This allows the baby to grow calmly without suffering from sudden temperature changes, hypothermia and infection. The increased amount of oxygen and light allows for the growth and rapid development of all systems of the newborn. The presence of a neonatologist allows for almost continuous monitoring
