Paratyphoid A (Paratyphus) is an acute infectious disease caused by bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae group. Paratyphoid fever belongs to the group of intestinal infections (dysentery, escherichiosis, salmonellosis).
Paratyphoid fever is a dangerous type of bacterial infection as it can cause serious complications and even death. It can be transmitted through food, water, and dirty hands. The most common source of infection is contaminated food that is prepared and consumed in uncleaned or untreated areas. Paratyphoid bacteria are resistant to refrigeration and can survive for several days at room temperature.
