Performing artificial ventilation for suspected head, neck, or back injuries
In a car accident victim who has fallen, dived into water, or in people with a sports injury, or in cases where there was a strong mechanical load, the presence of damage to the head, neck or back should be suspected. In such a situation, when opening the victim's airway, movements of his head and neck should be kept to a minimum. In this case, use the mandibular thrust without head-throw method instead of the usual head-throw and chin lift method.
