Dyschondrosteosis Leri

Lery-Weill's dyschondrostosis

Lary-Weill's dyschondrososis is a hereditary bone disease. It is characterized by damage to the bone metaphyseal zones, which is a poorly studied object for medicine in general. The tumor is benign, but also contains malignant cells. Very similar to the manifestations of osteoid osteoma in children. Sometimes this disease is also called Leri's disease, which is incorrect, since these are completely different diseases. However, unfortunately, the classification is very confusing.

Causes of development of Lery-Weill's dyschondrosotosis

Today there is no consensus regarding the reason for its formation. Doctors say that the process is hereditary, that is, the likelihood of the disease increases if the same diagnosis was previously. There are cases when a mutation of a specific gene has been identified, the failure of which contributes to the development of the disease. Some scientists believed that the reason was the influence of a virus; however, it was later found out that most virological diseases had nothing to do with it.
