Perikaryon

The perikaryon is a collection of polymorphic artiodactyl thylakoids located in the chloroplast cells of higher plants.

The main function of perikaryons is the synthesis and storage of substances in plants, such as proteins, fats, carbohydrates and mineral salts. The pericarrch is a thin gelatinous wall located around the perikarya. Pericanrhus forms a protective layer against attacks by animals and parasites. It also promotes the storage of nutrients inside the cell. In this sense, pericanrs resembles a nut, which is a product of the educational tissue of the plant.
