Sleepwalking

Sleepwalking - somnambulism - is not a disease, but a physiological state during which a person can walk, talk, perform some actions in a dream, more or less aware of what is happening. This sleep disturbance occurs during the dreaming phase (in the terminology of somnologists) - the so-called REM sleep phase. During this phase, the human brain works differently than during other phases of sleep: the heart rate becomes faster, breathing accelerates, blood pressure drops, etc. At this time, an unusual visual picture arises - the sleeper often sees bright, dynamic sleep-visual images and moves his head from side to side: he shudders - that is, “twitches.”
