Subarachnoid hemorrhage

Hemorrhages in the substance of the brain, as well as in the subarachnoid space (subarachnoidalgia), according to patient complaints and autopsy results, are diagnosed almost in the same way. It is very difficult to differentiate between them.

Hemorrhage into the substance of the hemispheres (from a small capillary, artery or vein) is characterized by sudden headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, loss of consciousness, pathological pulsations of blood vessels in a pulsating mode on the side of the hemorrhage affected by the ECG with a decrease in the amplitude of the R wave. With supratentorial hemorrhages, nystagmus and anisocoria are often observed. The location of the source of hemorrhage is determined by the intensity of bruising during lumbar puncture and is accompanied by changes in the EEG.

When hemorrhage is localized subarachnvidially, the clinical picture at the first stage is determined by focal symptoms due to the impact of the pathological agent on the brain centers. Subsequently, general symptoms appear - pain, vomiting, headache, dizziness, general lethargy, mental disorders, gaze arrest, gait disturbance.
