Stasis: causes and prevention
Stasis (from the Greek stasis - “stand”, “stand”) is a state of immobility of various tissues of the body. This may be due to various diseases, circulatory problems or nutritional deficiencies. Stasis can also occur with prolonged periods of immobility, such as sitting at a desk or lying on a bed. Often the cause of the development of stasis is a decrease in blood flow in the vessels of the peripheral network. If blood flow is reduced, the cells of the body's tissues do not receive enough nutrients and oxygen, which leads to their atrophy and stop working. In such cases, the skin, muscles, joints and internal organs are most often affected. The most common causes of stasis include: * Fixed body position (for example, sitting at a desk for long periods of time at work). * Sedentary lifestyle (eg, lazy sports, lack of sports activities). * Insufficient physical activity (
