Acute cholecystitis is called inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecyst), accompanied by a violation of its function. Usually a consequence of bile duct obstruction, with the exception of isolated damage to the gallbladder. As a complication develops in acute appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, obstruction of the bile ducts with gallstones. After eating, an attack of pain develops, usually occurring 2–4 hours after eating. Sometimes the pain appears late, sometimes it is provoked by movement, shaking, retention of feces and gases, shaking of the body, etc. They occur frequently, are painful, most often yellowed face and sclera. Palpation of the abdomen is painful, there is a forced position of bent legs and painful palpation in the right hypochondrium. Percussion sound in this zone is dull or muffled, positive Shchetkin-Blumberg sign. Often, upon palpation of the cecum, rumbling is not detected. There is an increase in temperature, an increase in blood leukocytes and ESR, and signs of cholangitis appear. In almost all cases, in the walls of the bladder it is possible to identify a compacted gallbladder with a smooth or slightly rough surface, which absorbs the contraction of the stomach. Its size is often variable, one pole is sometimes enlarged, and the transparency of the bladder is somewhat uneven.
