The musculo-articular sense (funcal gyriosympotiijes) is one of the three main sensations that a person uses to determine his position in space. It helps determine the position of the body both in time and in space (proprioception).
Muscle and joint senses are one of the types of proprioception. The mechanism of formation of the sensation of the weight of objects underlies human locomotor activity. Heteromodal integration of muscle sensation with joint, visual and kinesthetic sensations is possible already in infancy. The relationship between the muscular and articular spheres is manifested in a person’s perception of his body as a whole. Skin receptors and the vestibular apparatus play an important role here.
