Food Products

Food products (syn. food) are products consumed by humans. These include products of plant and animal origin:

  1. Vegetables and fruits (apples, pears, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, etc.)

  2. Cereals and cereals (rice, buckwheat, wheat, oats, barley, etc.)

  3. Meat and meat products (beef, pork, chicken, sausage, etc.)

  4. Fish and seafood (salmon, herring, shrimp, crabs, etc.)

  5. Milk and dairy products (yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, cheese, etc.)

  6. Eggs

  7. Vegetable oils (sunflower, olive, etc.)

Food products are a source of nutrients that a person needs for normal functioning, growth and development. These include proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, etc. A varied and balanced diet, including all major food groups, is the key to health.
