Heinz Coloring

Heinz Coloring was a German pathologist who made major contributions to the development of immunology and microbiology. He was born on November 27, 1874 in Würzburg. He received his education at the University of Giessen, where he studied medicine and natural sciences. In 1901 he received his doctorate in bacteriology and immunology, after which he began working at the University of Marburg in Germany.

One of Coloring's most significant works was the study of the phenomenon of leukocytosis, when the number of white blood cells in the blood increases in response to infection or injury. This discovery was of great importance for understanding the mechanisms of the body's immune defense. Staining also studied the mechanisms of fever development and the formation of antibodies.
