Rivoire Operation

The Rivoire operation is a surgical procedure developed by the French surgeon Jean Rivoire in the early 20th century. The operation was created to treat thyroid cancer, which had become very common at the time.

This operation involves removing the tumor and surrounding tissue, as well as removing lymph nodes that may be affected by cancer. The surgeon then reconstructs the thyroid gland and restores its function.

Rivoire surgery was very popular in its time and was used to treat many types of cancer. However, it is currently only used in rare cases when other treatments are not effective.

Although the rivoire operation is outdated, it is still used in some countries such as France, Germany and Italy.
