Vitamin F is not a separate vitamin in the classical sense of the term. This is a collective name for two important groups of polyunsaturated fatty acids - omega-3 and omega-6.

Main representatives:

1. Omega-3 fatty acids - α-linolenic, eicosapentaenoic (EPA), docosahexaenoic (DHA).
2. Omega-6 fatty acids - linoleic, γ-linolenic, arachidonic.

These substances play a vital role in metabolic processes, the functioning of the nervous system and the cardiovascular system. They are not synthesized in the body, so they must come from food. Sources of vitamin F are vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds. To compensate for the deficiency, special dietary supplements with vitamin F are produced.
