Bence Jones Albumin

Bence Jones Albumin is a peptide protein that is synthesized in the parotid and submandibular salivary glands of mammals. It is formed by post-translational cleavage and excretion as a peptide fragment from the proalbumin molecule, unlike other serum albumins, which are synthesized without this step. Mature protein has the ability to have anti-turberculosis and anti-allergic activity. Also, the function of this protein is to have an immunomodulatory effect.
