Scientists at the University of Florida warn about the relationship between dieting and the tendency to abuse alcoholic beverages.
According to scientists, excessive restriction in food leads to the development of alcoholism. Experts came to this conclusion as a result of a special study.
For ten years, scientists from Florida observed 1,340 volunteers. During the experiment, it was noticed that the sooner a person begins to follow a strict diet, the more problems he has in the future. For example, those people whose caloric intake did not exceed 900 kcal suffer 30% more from alcohol dependence compared to those who do not adhere to a strict diet.
To be fair, scientists also note that it’s not just diets—the tendency to alcoholism is also influenced by genetic predisposition and the environment.
