Surdo pedagogy

**Deaf pedagogy** is a field of pedagogy that deals with the development of methods for teaching and raising children with hearing impairments (deafness or partial deafness). The deaf pedagogical approach is based on the principles of accessibility of educational material, taking into account the characteristics of speech development and hearing abilities, as well as creating special conditions for learning.

Deafness is a profound impairment (complete absence, congenital or early acquired) of the ability to perceive sounds by voice and other auditory means. Deafness, especially pronounced, leads to disruption of a person’s physical and mental development. It occurs against the background of organic and functional changes, leading to damage to the sensory systems (sense organs) of the body.
