Bile C

Bile is a complex secretion produced by liver hepatocytes in response to its chronic damage. It functions as an enzymatic hormone, preparing the digestive tract for digesting food and inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microbes. The main component of bile is bilirubin, which is formed by the breakdown of hemoglobin. Important substances in the composition of bile: caerulein, cholesterol, phospholipids, bile acids, urobilinogen (stercobilinogen, stercoprotein) and various pigments. The gallbladder takes part in the primary concentration of bile, due to which water is absorbed faster than liquids. Fatty acids and water-soluble vitamins are absorbed only in the presence of buffers and bacterial enzymes in the bile. In more than 80% of cases, gallstones are formed from calcium salts, for this reason they are difficult to dissolve
