Starting from the age of 25-30, a woman wages a constant unequal battle with nature, time and gravity for the opportunity to remain young and beautiful.
The most vulnerable places where the heaviest battles of this war take place are the thin delicate skin around the eyes, neck and arms.
Cosmetology, pharmaceuticals and massage practices come to the woman’s aid.
Massage is one of the most pleasant, useful and effective methods of rejuvenation and beauty maintenance.
What are the benefits of facial skin massage?
- Improving microcirculation. By improving microcirculation, human skin receives more nutrients, toxins and waste products are more effectively removed from it, skin respiration improves, and therefore the color of the skin improves.
- Improvement of hemo- and lymph flow. The effect is similar to improving microcirculation, but deeper. The complexion also improves, and due to the acceleration and optimization of lymph flow, puffiness decreases or disappears.
- Toning or relaxing muscles. Not all skeletal muscles, including the muscles of the eyes, bear the same load. Those that take on a large load are often tense (or even spasming), which causes the formation of skin creases - wrinkles.
Others, on the contrary, due to insufficient load, are at rest and relax, as a result of which, for example, with age, the so-called “sinking” of the oval of the face occurs. With the right approach to different muscle groups, you can achieve amazing results.
Exfoliation of dead cells. The function of massage, which is very important for the beauty and youth of the skin, is to remove dead cells from the surface of the skin, which are constantly formed. The renewal cycle of epidermal cells is 28-30 days, but the formation of new cells and, accordingly, the death of old ones occurs every day.
Some of them are washed off when washing, others are removed with special means.
They interfere with the complete absorption of various cosmetics, thus improving skin respiration and, accordingly, skin color.
Improved vision. A number of massage practices, through proper work with the eye muscles, can improve vision, which means the patient squints less, resulting in less wrinkles. Positive emotions. An important effect of massage is that it gives positive emotions. A more positive person frowns less, is more willing to take care of himself, and looks better.How to carry out the procedure in the area around the eyes, under them and on the eyelids?
- Massage against wrinkles around the eyes, under them and on the eyelids is performed only after complete cleansing of the skin.
- The skin of the face and area around the eyes should be prepared by applying a cream or cosmetic oil suitable for the patient’s skin type.
- Facial massage is carried out with the most soft, gentle movements, since rough impact on the delicate skin around the eyes can lead to the opposite effect - the formation of new creases.
- Movements should be deep, but not stretching the skin.
Techniques that help get rid of wrinkles
Some of them are applicable at home.
Drainage
Its beauty is that it improves lymph exchange of tissues of a certain anatomical area.
Everything is quite simple: the lymphatic system is closely connected with the circulatory system and its vessels collect toxins and products of cell activity from the periphery of the body and carry them into certain channels, where they flow into the circulatory system. Thus, without preparing the underlying lymphatic vessels during lymphatic drainage massage, lymphostasis can be created.
The second important detail is the speed at which the massage therapist's hands should slide over the patient's skin. It should be slow. Since lymph is a fairly viscous substance, its flow is much slower than the blood flow. And even if the purpose of the manipulation is to accelerate lymph flow, everything must be done delicately, without disturbing the functioning of the body.
There are several techniques for performing lymphatic massage.
Classic lymphatic
It is performed with two or three fingers, strictly along the massage lines (directions in which the least stretching of the skin occurs). Affected: neck, facial skin, including the area around the eyes. It is performed with the index and ring fingers of both hands on symmetrical areas of the facial skin at the same time.
- The massage begins with stroking and light tapping of the neck muscles to release the lymphatic vessels. You can apply several light pressures with the palmar surface of the ring finger into the supraclavicular fossa to improve the outflow of the venous angle area.
- The next area of influence is the forehead. Hand movements are directed in a fan-like manner from the eyebrows and bridge of the nose to the scalp and from the center of the forehead to the temples.
- The area around the eyes.
- The massage begins with 10 circular strokes at the outer corner of the eye, then smoothly moves towards the nose without collecting the skin into a fold.
- After this, in the opposite direction, but along the upper eyelid. Repeat 3 times. The next movement is to press the skin of the lower eyelid with the pads of 4 fingers for a few seconds, then repeat for the upper eyelid.
- Then, at the outer corner of the eye, place the ring finger on the rib with the nail outward and roll the finger in the direction of the nose along the lower eyelid. Repeat for the upper eyelid.
- The next step is 10 light pressures with the pad of a finger at the outer corner of the eye, rolling to the inner corner along the lower eyelid, 10 light pressures at the inner corner of the eye and rolling the finger to the outer corner of the eye. Repeat 5 times.
- Then, with light movements, you need to move along the orbicularis oculi muscle from the outer corner along the lower eyelid to the inner one and in the opposite direction along the upper eyelid. It is important to also include the eyebrow area.
- Then follow the same route with light tapping movements (the so-called finger shower):
- Nose area. The movement goes from the bridge of the nose to the tip of the nose, not forgetting the area of the wings.
- Cheeks. From nose to temples.
- Lips. Circular clockwise.
- Lower edge of the jaw. From the center to the temples.
- The massage is completed by moving the hands along the neck from the ears to the supraclavicular fossa.
Asahi method
Despite the rather long history of use by Japanese beauties, it was first published by Tanaka Yukuko, a Japanese stylist who refined the technique that her grandmother taught her.
- performed not with the tips of the fingers, but with the whole palm;
- point impact;
- the presence of a final movement that improves the outflow of lymph after exposure to each area of the face.
- Forehead. The palms are pressed to the center, fixed for 3 seconds and moved with medium pressure to the temples, then they are turned 90⁰, fixed again for 2 seconds on the parotid lymph nodes and the final movement is made.
- Eyes. The pads of the middle finger press on the outer corner of the eye for 3 seconds, easily slide to the inner corner, press again, with medium pressure along the upper edge of the orbit to the starting point, press again (3 seconds), lightly move to the inner corner and another movement along the lower edge of the orbit, then to the parotid lymph nodes and the final movement.
- Lips. The only stage that moves on to the next without a final movement. You need to press your fingers (from the index to the ring fingers of both hands) into the center of the chin, with strong pressure go around the lips from the edges, and finish with pressure at the nostrils.
- Nose. Using an up and down motion from the wings to the bridge of the nose, rub your nose intensively. Next, move along the lower edge of the orbit to the parotid lymph nodes. Final movement.
- Cheeks. Fold your hands so that your forearms touch tightly and your palms face up. Place the bases of your thumbs in the hollow of the chin. With an effort, go around your lips, cover your cheeks with your palms and fix them for 3 seconds, then spread your hands with an effort towards your ears. And again finish the technique with the final movement.
- Contrast wash will also enhance the effect of the technique.
- Finishing movement: from the parotid lymph nodes to the supraclavicular fossa.

Manipulations against crow's feet
A fairly simple technique that also:
- improves tissue trophism;
- improves lymph outflow;
- reduces the severity of wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes (“crow’s feet”);
- improves skin color.
- With your eyes closed, make light rubbing movements with your fingertips in the area of the upper eyelid from the inner corner to the outer.
- Perform tapping on the same area.
- Repeat the movements in the opposite direction along the lower eyelid.
- Follow the same path with light pinching.
- Complete the massage with light circular movements from the outer corners of the eye to the inner corners along the lower eyelid and in the opposite direction along the upper.
The whole procedure will take about 10 minutes.
Taoist
Another name for the technique is Qigong for the eyes. Performed immediately after waking up. Distinctive feature - In addition to normal actions, visual acuity improves.
- By rubbing against each other, warm up your palms, then apply them to your closed eyes and hold until the skin around the eyes becomes warm and your palms cool.
- First, with the pads, and then with the nail phalanges of the index, middle and ring fingers, first apply 8 pressures on the eyeball in succession, then make circular movements of the eyeballs.
Tibetan
Its peculiarity is that it combines not only massage, but also gymnastics for the muscles of this anatomical area.
- Preliminary muscle relaxation. To do this, for a minute you need to alternate between tightly closing your eyelids, opening your eyes and looking up.
- On the closed eyelid of each eye, light rhythmic pulsating pressure is applied to the eyeballs with the index finger. 10-15 repetitions are performed.
- Place your fingers on the drooping eyelids and lightly press the skin of the eyelid to the eyeball. Overcoming the resistance of your fingers, you need to try to open your eyes. 10 reps.
- Make light circular massaging movements with your ring finger at the inner corners of the eyes.
- Blinking frequently for half a minute.
- Place your middle fingers at the outer corners of the eyes, make 10 light presses, roll your fingers to the inner corners along the lower eyelids, make 10 light presses and again roll your fingers towards the temples, but along the skin of the upper eyelids. Repeat 10 times.
What contraindications exist?
Direct contraindications to massage are:
- Violation of the integrity of the skin, trauma.
- Infectious diseases accompanied by increased body temperature.
- Oncological diseases.
- Tuberculosis.
- Inflammatory lesions and pustular diseases on the skin of the face.
- Inflammation of the lymph nodes.

The benefits of massage for preventing the formation and reducing the severity of wrinkles in the delicate skin around the eyes are undeniable and cannot be discussed. But the greatest effectiveness will be in the case of complex effects using cosmetic care products that are suitable for your skin type and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
Often, due to poor nutrition, bad habits, frequent stress and disruptions in sleep and rest patterns, unsightly dark circles, swelling and wrinkles appear under the eyes. What to do in this case? Of course, resort to special salon procedures, one of which is lymphatic drainage facial massage for swelling under the eyes. But it is not necessary to visit a salon, because a similar effect on the skin can be done at home.
Features of the skin in the eye area
The skin in the eye area is sensitive - capillaries come close to them. The dermis here is thin and delicate - it always reacts to fatigue, smoking, lack of sleep or constant work at the monitor. As a result, you begin to notice:
- swelling, manifested in the form of bags;
- microtrauma due to capillary rupture;
- unpleasant dark circles under the eyes;
- a clearly defined line running along the upper contour of the cheeks to the corners of the eyes.
Plus, we constantly blink, causing our muscles to move. Hence, Many facial wrinkles appear, the fight against which requires systematic care.
The positive effect of special massage in the eyelid area is ensured by:
- improving skin regeneration;
- removing toxins and creating more elastic skin;
- relieving eye strain;
- establishing metabolic processes at the cellular level;
- maintaining skin tone.
Indications for massage
After the age of 40, this massage should be performed regularly. From time to time, it is necessary to treat problem areas on the skin of the face from the age of 25, when the first wrinkles begin to appear. But this absolutely does not mean that this age is the lower threshold.
Important point! According to doctors, the sooner you begin to strengthen the eye vessels, the longer you can maintain the beauty of your face and vision.
Lymphatic drainage massage should definitely be done if you have:
- bruises under the eyes;
- crow's feet;
- swelling;
- wrinkles;
- eye fatigue (there is a desire to lie down and just close your eyes).
Types of eye massage
When performing massages in the eye area, you need to choose the right cosmetics, taking into account age-related changes in the skin, know along which lines you should move, and also be able to identify points on the body, the pressure of which will lead to an influx of lymph.
Depending on the technique, there are different types of massage. Let's look at the most effective methods for treating the skin under the lower and upper eyelids.
Lymphatic drainage
This type of massage is most popular among people of this age group. The movement of the hands is carried out strictly along the lines along which the blood (lymph) moves. That is why lymphatic drainage massage around the eyes got its name.
It promotes:
- improving blood flow;
- smoothing out wrinkles;
- eliminating puffiness and unpleasant circles under the eyes;
- uniform skin color.
There are various techniques for performing lymphatic drainage eye massage. The most popular among them:
- Japanese massage. By tapping, the lymph runs towards the main nodes. It is carried out in a circular motion strictly along certain lines. The master also pays attention to the outer and inner corners of the eyes, applying pressure. The corners of the brow ridge are involved. This lymphatic drainage massage is designed to eliminate puffiness under the eyes.
- Spot. When using this technique, individual points are identified, located along the edge of the lower and upper eyelids, at the temples, and on the inner edge of the eye. Light blows are made with the pads of the fingers, touches and circular rotations are carried out. This technique will help get rid of dark circles and relieve fatigue.
- When using spoons. This non-standard type of massaging the area around the eyes involves the use of hot spoons. Movement is carried out along lines and at certain points. Revitonics is effective against the appearance of wrinkles and crow's feet.
- Pulse. The skin around the eyelid is treated with microcurrent (Darsonval procedure). The impulses improve microcirculation and lymph flow to the canal.
- Cryomassage. The service is carried out in salons that practice modern rejuvenation techniques. In the area of massage lines, the cosmetologist rolls a roller filled with liquid nitrogen. Due to this effect on the skin, the blood vessels first narrow and then expand. Massage allows you to get rid of wrinkles.
- Spanish. A young, but very effective technique that is found in beauty salons. It is performed not only with the fingertips, but also with the entire palm involved. The effect is complex, since the course of procedures eliminates all problems with the skin around the eyes.
Perform an equally effective massage at home:
- Remove any remaining makeup and apply any moisturizer or olive oil slightly heated in a water bath to the eyelid area.
- Visually determine the line along which you will move.
- Press the dermis of the lower and upper eyelids a couple of times with three fingers.
- Tap the massage line in the area of the upper eyelid with your fingertips, moving in the direction from the inner edge to the outer.
- Immediately, without stopping the movement, walk along the lower eyelid to the inner corner. The procedure is performed on both eyes simultaneously.
- Place your finger on the tip of your eye, which is located at your temple. Now do a sway, gradually moving towards the bridge of your nose. Repeat similar movements again.
- Press the skin with the pad of your middle finger in the area of the nasolacrimal barb 10 times. Start at the tip and work your way down.
- Similar movements are carried out for 5–7 minutes until the base (cream or oil) completely penetrates the skin.
- Upon completion of the procedure, perform a contrast wash: first with cold and then with moderately hot water.
Important! The skin around the eyes should not be stretched too much, otherwise you risk not improving the condition, but only causing harm. Remember: the dermis you are working with is very sensitive.
Vacuum
Vacuum eye massage involves applying pressure from a specially created vacuum to the skin. The dermis seems to be sucked a few millimeters into the jar or device nozzle.
At this time, blood circulation improves, which ensures the correct supply of all cells with nutrients and oxygen. In addition, lymph stagnation is eliminated, therefore swelling is eliminated.
To carry out the procedure, you need to arm yourself with a special device - silicone or glass jars. Take a small diameter - 11 mm.
Instructions for action:
- Apply cream or oil to clean skin (no need to steam).
- First fix the area with your fingers to prevent stretching.
- A jar is placed at the outer tip of the eye, creating a vacuum. The skin should be slightly absorbed into the container.
- It needs to be passed along the lower eyelid, and then along the upper (from the bridge of the nose to the end of the eyebrow).
- Twice is enough to ensure a positive result.
For swelling and bags
The following technique will eliminate swelling that can form due to lack of sleep, smoking and alcohol abuse, problems with the functioning of the liver and kidneys, as well as excessive fluid consumption at night. The unfortunate bags under the eyes usually appear in the morning, when it's time to go to work.
Features of massage for bags under the eyes:
- last no more than 10 minutes;
- involve the area only under the lower eyelid;
- light stroking movements are carried out;
- use fingertips to tap.
Procedure:
- The skin should be cleansed of cosmetics.
- Place your fingers near the outside of the eye.
- Use light tapping movements to move towards the bridge of your nose.
- Repeat similar manipulations several times.
- Fix your middle finger on the nasolacrimal groove and walk downwards, first tapping and then shaking it.
- After completing the procedure, it is advisable to apply a cold compress, a slice of fresh cucumber or an ice cube prepared from a herbal decoction.
Be sure to try spiral massage using cold spoons. The devices are pre-frozen in the freezer. After removing their refrigerator, cream is applied to the convex side of the device and placed in the nasolacrimal groove. Carry out zigzag movements up to the temples themselves, and then move towards the ears. Similar manipulations are repeated 3 times on each eye.
From dark circles
The formation of dark circles is a very unpleasant picture, which can be corrected by lymphatic drainage massage for bruises. You need to use two fingers - index and middle.
The technique is as follows:
- The skin should be clean. Apply moisturizing serum, cream or oil.
- Place your fingers at the temple and make 10 circular movements. We work with both eyes at the same time.
- Now we apply pressure with the pads of our fingers in the area of the lower eyelid, while the skin should not spring much.
- Make tapping movements in the direction from the outer eyelid to the bridge of the nose. Similarly, you can go over the outer eyelid.
- Place your middle finger on the rib in the temporal area under the lower eyelid so that the nail is directed towards the hair. We roll the finger with a change of position in the opposite direction (now the nail should look at the bridge of the nose). A similar procedure is carried out 5 times.
- Circular movements are made along the orbicularis oculi muscle approximately 10 times.
- Press with your fingertips on the points near the outer and inner eyelids.
- At the end of the massage, do a contrast wash.
For wrinkles
The favorite place for wrinkles is the area around the eyes. They appear due to the influence of UV rays, lack of sleep, poor diet, stress, too polluted air and bad habits. If you massage your eyes correctly and regularly, you can:
- establish metabolic processes in skin cells;
- ensure collagen production;
- relieve overvoltage;
- remove accumulated toxins;
- make the skin elastic.
Technique:
- Remove makeup from your skin and wash your hands thoroughly.
- Apply cream or oil heated in a water bath.
- Place two fingers in the temporal area near the eyes and make several circular movements clockwise.
- Now walk with your fingertips from the temporal zone to the bridge of the nose, making light taps. Return to the starting point at the end of the brow ridge. The movement is done 3-4 times.
- Fix by pressing for a few seconds first the upper eyelid and then the lower.
- We make a “boat” using the index finger. Walk from the outer corner of the lower eyelid to the inner one.
- Focus your attention on the corners of your eyes. Using your middle finger, apply pressure to the skin of the outer tip of the eyes (8 times). A similar procedure is carried out near the inner tip.
- Smooth the line of the upper eyelid, as if going around the eyebrow. Lower yourself in the temporal region and move towards the bridge of your nose.
Perform at least 10 sessions a month and you will prevent the appearance of new wrinkles and smooth out existing ones.
Interesting to know! There is another simple exercise that will tone the lateral muscles near the eyes. You need to touch the highest points of the eyebrows with your fingertips, and then slightly pull the skin up. You can start blinking (15–18 times), while you should feel resistance.

- drainage massage with silicone fingers;
- radiofrequency exposure;
- electrophoresis;
- influence of infrared rays;

How to make lymphatic drainage massage and cream that will smooth the skin and give it elasticity.
To tighten the skin of the eyelids and cheeks, do not resort to expensive creams, but to massage against wrinkles around the eyes. It is the massage against wrinkles under the eyes that affects the deep layers of the epithelium and helps delay the manifestation of the first signs of aging. Beauty salons provide specialized masks, devices, appliances, massage techniques and creams. But massage techniques that have existed since ancient times can also be used at home.
The effectiveness of massage techniques
Massage for wrinkles around the eyes affects:
- cells, accelerates blood;
- lymph;
- facial muscles.
As a result, toxins are more actively removed through the skin, collagen is stimulated, the skin is tightened, and circles and swelling around the eyes are reduced. Such procedures have many positive aspects - no allergic reactions, no skin clogging, self-regulation of the impact force, high efficiency, does not require specialized equipment and skills. In some types of techniques, not only the epidermis is stimulated, but also the eyeball, which leads to enhanced vision.
Massage can be used for medical purposes. With its help you can reduce or eliminate headaches and even stabilize intraocular pressure.
Main contraindications:
The presence of inflammatory elements on the skin (open cuts, ulcers, barley), oncology above the third degree, schizophrenia, infection.
General recommendations
Before you start stimulating the skin, it must be cleaned of dirt and makeup. Apply a suitable oil or cream to the cleansed surface. After massaging, take a contrast shower or wipe your skin with a piece of ice. The latter can be replaced with a slice of fresh cucumber. It is recommended to do this procedure at night, so that during sleep the skin can rest and be well saturated with vitamins from oils and creams.
There are massage lines that you need to know. If you do not follow them, there is a risk of increasing the number of wrinkles rather than reducing them. When massaging with your fingers, stroking, pressing and patting are performed. Around the eye, where the skin is thinnest and most sensitive, strong impacts are not allowed. The easiest way to remove wrinkles: apply the product with light pats and stroke the skin around the eyes 10 times.
You should not buy expensive massage devices for your home. As an auxiliary equipment, use cold spoons, which work wonders on skin swelling.
The selected cosmetic product is applied to the spoons. Spoons are applied to the lower eyelid to the inner corners of the eyes. The spoons are led in a zigzag pattern to the temples, the temples are pressed three times, and the spoons are brought to the ears. The listed movements must be repeated three times.
Massage techniques
There are many well-known massage techniques, including:
- lymphatic drainage;
- according to Kurbatov;
- Qigong system;
- Tibetan technology.
Method according to Kurbatov
Kurbatov’s technique helps not only in the fight against aging, but also against myopia. Massage using this method is rhythmic and includes a couple of exercises, but the effect will be greater with the use of medications.
Lymphatic drainage massage
Lymphatic drainage massage for wrinkles under the eyes in beauty salons is carried out, including with the help of equipment, and this should be done by a specialist. But the technique itself can be tried at home. Its peculiarity is that it tightens the skin of the face, relieves puffiness, and smoothes out wrinkles. The effectiveness is such that in just 10 sessions there will be no trace left of bags and puffiness of the eyes and skin. For this:
- Along the temples, grabbing the areas nearby, make 10 circles clockwise with the pads of the middle and index fingers.
- Using pulsating movements (pressing and releasing) from the temples, move towards the nose along the bone under the lower eyelid. This must be done three times. The fingers are moved upward along the bone - to the eyebrow area. Along the lower edge of the eyebrows from the nose to the temple, massage is continued with pulsating pressure.
- For a few seconds, with light pressure, fix the lower eyelid, and then the upper.
- Using your fingertips, pat the lower eyelid from the temples to the nose, and pat the upper eyelid from the outer corner to the temple.
- The finger is placed on the outer corner of the lower eyelid, depicting a rocking boat from it, and led to the inner corner. From above we make the same movements, but towards the temple. First you need to make a “boat” five times from below, and then from above.
- In the corner of the eye, near the end of the eyebrows, we apply 10 pressures with the middle finger and move the “boat” along the lower eyelid to the corner near the nose. Press the area of the inner corner 10 times and move your finger “boat” towards the outer corner. You need to make 10 such circles.
- From the inner corner along the eyebrow with stroking fingertips, move to the temples, and from the temporal area along the cheekbones to the nose.
- Pat the same lines with your fingers near the eyes.
Tibetan massage technique
This massage combines the use of circular movements with pressure: pressure is applied to the upper eyelids, and the lower ones are simply stroked. Many exercises are in tune with the Qigong system. First they relax, then they relieve tension: they close their eyes tightly, and then they open them sharply, this must be done within one minute.
Tibetan exercises:
- Close your eyelids, place your fingers on top and apply a little pressure;
- Massage around the eyes 10-15 times;
- Blink for half a minute;
- Close your eyelids, place your finger on them and try to lift your eyelids without removing your fingers. Repeat 10-15 times;
- Play with the object ten times, moving closer and further away (more details in the subsection above);
- Bring your fingers together in front of the bridge of your nose and focus your gaze on them. Spread your arms in different directions, observing them. If you can no longer follow them with your eyes, then the exercise is considered to be over.
