Dark chocolate treats liver diseases

British scientists from Imperial College London have determined that dark chocolate helps treat the liver.

During the experiment, volunteers with liver diseases ate food supplemented with different types of chocolate. And it turned out that it was dark chocolate that contained substances that can reduce damage to blood vessels during liver scarring. In addition, it is rich in antioxidants, which help reduce blood pressure in the diseased organ.

Experts presented the results of their research at the International Congress on Liver Diseases.
