How to Survive With a Baby

How to survive with a baby

Breastfeed and you will save yourself from many difficulties (searching for and preparing formula, dysbacteriosis, allergies, psychological problems). Ninety percent of lactation depends on the strength of your desire to feed your baby in this particular way. Nowadays, many mothers feed on demand from the first days, and gradually the regime necessary for the child is established by itself.

Sleep when the baby sleeps. This way you can at least partially avoid chronic lack of sleep, which is familiar to all mothers. I don’t care about dirty dishes, a mess in the apartment, an empty refrigerator. A rested mother will get things done faster. The key to a baby's good sleep is evening exercises, bathing and dousing. As a rule, after such a load, children suck well, fall asleep quickly and sleep peacefully and for a long time. What more could you want?

Listen baby. Screaming and crying are so far the only way for a child to attract your attention. Very soon you will be able to distinguish the type of crying - like a baby asking for food, or like being picked up. But if a child has something in pain, most often the tummy, it will be a completely different cry.

Stay close. Your presence in the baby's field of vision is peace and confidence for you and for him. Try to place your child in the same room as you. Whether you are doing laundry or cooking, sit him next to him in a highchair. Not yet sitting, put it in a stroller (it fits even in a small kitchen). Whether you are sewing or ironing, lay a baby rug or a blanket folded in four on the floor next to it and place the romper on it. Be sure to talk to your baby all the time: tell him what you are doing, what toy you are giving him, sing songs, tell poems, fairy tales - and praise and encourage him more often!

Leave notes and reminders. If you don't already have a family bulletin board, now is the time to start one. This could be a piece of paper on the hallway mirror or a magnetic plastic board on the refrigerator. On it is a shopping list for my husband, important things to do (call, answer a letter, etc.), reminders for older children. Leave notes for yourself and in other places in the apartment. Let her appearance lose a little from this, but your memory will benefit.

Inspect kitchen utensils, clothes, shoes, linen, trinkets that make cleaning difficult. All the necessary things are at hand, everything unnecessary will be put away. If we put everything in its place (try to convince family members of this), then order is maintained automatically.

Skip the culinary excesses. If your budget allows, use semi-finished products. For example, fish fillets and frozen vegetables are quickly prepared. Economical (both in time and money) dishes: casseroles, boiled or baked meat, fish, baked potatoes. After preparing a large amount of minced meat, dough, pizza, use some, freeze some.

Pampers free you from washing diapers and allow you to dress your baby in rompers almost from the first month and give him freedom of movement. Just remember to change them often.

A washing machine (ideally automatic) is perhaps the most necessary purchase in a family with a newborn. If this is not possible, at least buy a centrifuge: the laundry spun in it dries very quickly.

A kangaroo backpack allows the mother not to feel cut off from the world. A backpack for little ones should have a rigid back and a minimum of fasteners. The most important thing is that the baby should not sit in it, but hold on to his armpits, as if hanging. You can carry your baby in a baby carrier as soon as the umbilical wound heals. But do not forget that this method of transportation is difficult for the baby.

Delve into your husband's problems. He now has a great deal of responsibility for the financial support of his family, and perhaps he gives his all at work. Give him time at home, do not overload him with demands and requests. Both husband and child should feel confident and happy in you as their mother.
