Nitroglycerin

Nitroglycerin is an organic substance, glycerol trinitrate, a colorless, odorless oily liquid, melting point -11.5 °C, boiling point 292.7 °C. It dissolves well in water and organic solvents, poorly in alcohol and benzene.

It was first obtained in 1847 by the French scientist Charles Amédée Kussmaul.
