Breathing of the spinal (bone) marrow (Part 6)

This week we will complete our study of skeletal breathing. As you may remember, we have not yet studied the technique of breathing through the ribs and sternum.

Most of these bones are difficult to breathe. Therefore, you need to constantly practice and be able to concentrate. The fact that you have already practiced “spinal (bone) marrow breathing” for five weeks will make your task much easier. With experience you will do the exercise easily. But this requires daily practice. By skipping classes, you nullify all previous efforts.

A great help in performing the “bone breathing” exercise is the awakening of sexual energy. Sexual kung fu exercises and especially the yin-yang water mill exercise combined with sexual massage provide your body with sexual energy (ching qi), which the Taoists call “essence” or “ching” (chin), its most powerful form of expression. . The combination of sexual energy and its healing properties makes Taoist practice unique. For my part, I did everything possible so that the study of this book would not be limited solely to reading, but would encourage the reader to take active action. For the Taoist doctrine says: “If you don’t do it, you don’t have it.”

As before, I will do my best to make learning the rib and sternum breathing exercise easier. But a lot depends on your individual capabilities. First, let's try to breathe through the bones of our arms and legs at the same time.

You will sequentially breathe through your toes, leg bones, pelvis, sacrum and back. In the same way, you will breathe through your fingertips, directing the energy through your shoulders to your shoulder blades. The energy flows coming from the arms and legs will unite at the base of the neck, and the energy will spread through the bones of the skull. Then it descends along the bones of the face and jaw into the collarbones and further into the sternum. From this point on, the energy should spread from the spine through the ribs to the sternum. The reverse flow of energy will go from the sternum to the ribs and spine. From the spinal column, the energy will spiral down into the oscillating ribs located in the lower part of the chest. This concludes the study of respiration by skeletal bones.

I hope you can handle this. In fact, everything described in the pages of this book is very difficult to express in words. For example, I describe the movement of energy, but you will understand the essence of this phenomenon only when you feel the energy flow.

In addition, you must learn to feel the bones of the skull, face, and jaw. Once you succeed in this, your bones will automatically absorb energy as you inhale and release it as you exhale. Staying true to yourself, let me remind you again: the more you practice, the easier it will be for you to breathe through your bones.

  1. 1. Inhale simultaneously with your arms and legs, inhale through the tips of your toes and hands.
  2. 2. The energy rises up the legs and through the pelvic bones is directed to the sacrum, where the flows unite. Then a single energy flow along the spine rushes to the base of the neck.
  3. 3. The energy rises through the arms and moves through the shoulder blades to the base of the neck.
  4. 4. Energy flows from the arms and legs unite at the base of the neck.
  5. 5. Exhale and the energy will flow through the bones of the skull, facial bones and jaw bones.
  6. 6. The energy descends along the front line of the neck, passes through the collarbones and descends into the sternum.
  7. 7. Take another breath. As the energy rises through the spine, feel it spreading through the ribs, surrounding the torso with an energy ring and collecting in the sternum.
  8. 8. As you exhale, imagine how the energy, before leaving the limbs, spreads along the ribs and circulates around the spine.
  9. 9. As you inhale, imagine the energy rising up the spine and penetrating into the oscillating ribs located in the lower part of the chest.
  10. 10. Inhale and feel how the energy flows from the arms and legs spread into the bones of the skeleton.
  11. 11. Exhale and energy will flow from your fingers and toes. Repeat the exercise several times.

With practice, you will discover that the large joints in the body - wrists, ankles, elbows, knees, shoulders and hips - are powerful receivers of energy. They “work” like a transformer. However, to do this, you must fully master the art of smoothly moving energy flows through the bones. And this requires daily practice. But the result is worth it; it will exceed all your expectations.
