Teeth and Nutrition

One of the main causes of tooth decay is poor nutrition. Soft, viscous sweets, sweet (sugar-based) drinks, cakes, and buns leave a sticky coating on the teeth. They create a breeding ground for bacteria that destroy tooth enamel. Therefore, after eating, try, if possible, to eat a fresh, crunchy fruit or vegetable: an apple, a piece of celery, lettuce, raw carrots. Avoid sweetened drinks and replace them with natural, unsweetened fruit juices, milk, and water. Always chew your food thoroughly. Try not to drink too strong tea, coffee and drinks containing iron.
