If we consider the dynamics of the growth of weightlifters’ sports results during long-term training, we can see that an extremely large increase in achievements is actually observed in the first 5-6 years, then this increase slows down and stops on average after 11 years of training. For some athletes in weight categories of 100 kg or more, the growth in results continues for 13-14 years. For some athletes in light weight categories who began their training after the age of 17, results improve over the course of 12-14 years.
A longer increase in results (14-15 years) is observed in athletes who do not restrain the increase in their own weight. With significant weight loss, the increase in results stops earlier. This is the general pattern of increasing the results of a weightlifter.
Future msmc and world record holders in weightlifting, starting training at 16 years old, fulfill the III category standard on average by the end of the 1st year of training, II category - after 1.75 years, I category - after 2.5 years, kms - after 3.5 years, MS - after 4 years and MSMC - after 8 years.
Faster rates of development of key physical qualities - strength, speed and endurance - are observed in the first years of barbell training. The greater the overall training experience of a weightlifter, the more the body gets used to the training influences and the less the effect of developing physical qualities. Based on these data, it is necessary to ensure that in the first 5-6 years of training the rate of increase in achievements in biathlon is maximum. If the increase in results in these years is smaller, then in the future, when the increase in results decreases significantly (and the athlete still needs a large increase as a result), he will not be able to achieve record achievements. The average growth in performance in the first 8-9 years of training for weightlifters of various weight categories who began their training at the age of 16 is presented in table 1.
